The Glitch

So the glitch – to be able to do this with miles meant a ticket to Sydney and a separate ticket to get to the flight to Sydney. When I left Philly this morning they said they could only check my suitcase to LA. Despite awesome efforts from ^AD at United Social Care and Edina at O’Hare (both rock stars), it looks like I’ll have to claim my bag in LA then re-check it to Sydney. Annoying only because my connection will be one gate apart – but I get more steps in before sitting for 15 hours. 🙂

Baggage Claim

Successfully checked-in in Philadelphia, but the first bit of drama is already unfolding. Apparently the ticket agents were unable to check my bags all the way through to Sydney. Now, I have ample time in LA to get out of security, get my bag, and get back through – but I really shouldn’t have to. One thing at a time though.

The Fool

Some of you may know that for the past few years I’ve drawn a random Tarot Card of the Day – it helps give me a little insight into what the day might hold. In a few hours I leave on the Australian adventure, and my card today is The Fool. The Fool is the first card in the journey of the Tarot’s Major Arcana and represents beginnings, adventures, and the start of the path toward understanding. I couldn’t have asked for a more fitting card today – let the adventure begin!!

Traveling in a fried-out combie

Every journey begins with getting out of bed.

Today begins the totally insane trip to Sydney, Australia to see Mike & Micky from The Monkees in what might be their last performance together.

The how’s and why’s of the trip will be cataloged later, but for now – the alarm is telling me it’s time to start this 36 hour day!

Clarity

On Monday morning we had another New Moon. This was a little hard to believe because I felt like we’d just had one – but such is the nature of time right now.

For May I had chosen Integrity, because I seemed to be surrounded by such a lack of it that I wanted to make sure I was living my own life with as much honesty, mindfulness, and conviction as I could. It was tough – there were some choices and compromises, but the sun kept rising.

But things are still muddled. There are turbulent waters all around – spiritual questions, professional questions. I need space to think, but I haven’t really been able to give myself the healthy time to do that.… More...

Integrity

It’s been a rough week. It’s been six days since the new moon and this is the first day I’ve felt like I was able to write an unbiased New Moon post. Funny thing is, the theme that I’d intended on last Saturday followed me through the week and stays true today.

For the April lunar cycle I chose Patience, and in that post I said: “I’m going to just be patiently watching for the next few weeks, void of expectation, but mindful of the changes – and any calls to action those changes may prompt.” Turns out one of the changes was a wonderful surprise gig with the band. But this theme of patiently watching while void of expectation served me well during the troubles this week as well.… More...
